NEWS - We are having an outdoor meeting on September 21. More info below...

  • Many club activities have been on hold due to the COVID 19 outbreak. This includes our indoor meetings, some classes and workroom sessions. We will be having an outdoor meeting on September 21 at 6:45 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Cherry Bend Community Park Pavilion. More information and directions are in the September newsletter. Some classes and workroom are now resuming. See more information below and in the newsletter.

  • The club has a lease with the City of Traverse City to use the equipment room in the Carnegie building (Crooked Tree Arts Center / former History Center)on Sixth Street. Open work room sessions will resume in September. You must be a member, have taken the cabochon class, and have been fully vaccinated for COVID-19 to use the work room. Masks will need to be worn in the small workroom and you must register in advance due to the limited number of machines. E-mail tcrockroom@gmail.com to sign up for a work session. Remember, the workroom is not to be used for commercial puposes.
  • The 2021 Keweenaw Mineral Days, formerly known as The Copper Country Mineral Retreat were held July 13 - 17, 2021.... You can visit the website by clicking on the underlined event name above to find out the details. Collecting events in 2021 were to the Seneca, Wolverine #2 and Central Mines. Registration began April 8. There will be COVID - 19 protocols in place.
  • The Ishpeming Rock and Mineral Club held their 2021 August show and collecting events. Field trips were Friday, August 6 to the Republic Iron Mine; and Sunday, August 8 to the Lindberg Quarry for Kona Dolomite. The show was Saturday, August 7. Check their website from our Sponsors/Links page.
  • The Copper Country Rock and Mineral Club held their collecting and social events, August 8 through 12, 2021. Follow the link to their web site from our Sponsors/Links page. Registration began March 31. The CCRMC Rock and Mineral show was August 13, 14, and 15.
  • Various instructors will be teaching beginning cabochon classes beginning on Thursday, June 17,2021 and Janet Ryan and Pierre LaFoille will be teaching beginning silversmithing classes and the first class was held in May. E-mail tcrockroom@gmail.com to sign up for a class. Remember, you must be a member of the club to participate in these or other classes. All instructors are fully vaccinated for COVID 19 and participants will be required to have been fully vaccinated as well.

  • The 2021 Petoskey Stone Festival was held at Barnes Park in Eastport on Saturday, May 29, 2021. Some restrictions were in place but it was great to have the event this year after a COVID year off in 2020. Check the festival website by clicking on the event title for more information or check their Facebook page.
