NEWS - Our October 19 meeting will be at the VFW at 6:45 p.m...

  • We will hold our October 19 meeting at 6:45 p.m. at the Cherryland VFW at 3400 Veterans Drive in TC. The short program will be a quiz by Jenny Bowen and Janet Ryan will present the main program on "Matera, Italy - A City Carved Into Rock".
  • The November 16 meeting will feature, "Christmas In November". Club members can reserve a half or full table to display their wares for other club members and friends to purchase some Christmas gifts. Please let Janet Ryan know if you want to reserve a space.

  • The club has a lease with the City of Traverse City to use the equipment room in the Carnegie building (Crooked Tree Arts Center / former History Center)on Sixth Street. Open work room sessions are available. You must be a member, have taken the cabochon class, and have been fully vaccinated for COVID-19 to use the work room. Masks are recommended to be worn in the small workroom and you must register in advance due to the limited number of machines. E-mail scheduling@tcrockhounds.com to sign up for a work session. Remember, the workroom is not to be used for commercial puposes.
  • The 2022 Keweenaw Minerals Days was held July 13 - 16, 2022.... You can visit the website by clicking on the underlined event name above to find out the details. Collecting events in 2022 were to the Seneca, Wolverine and Central Mines.
  • The Ishpeming Rock and Mineral Club show was held on August 6. There were two collecting events for this year. Friday, August 5 was a collecting trip to the Republic Iron Mine. Sunday, August 7 was a trip to the Lindburg Quarry to collect Kona Dolomite. For details, check their website from our Sponsors/Links page.
  • The Copper Country Rock and Mineral Club held their collecting and social events, August 7 through 11, 2022. Follow the link to their web site from our Sponsors/Links page. The CCRMC Rock and Mineral show was August 12, 13, and 14.
  • Various instructors will be teaching beginning cabochon classes and silversmithing classes. E-mail scheduling@tcrockhounds.com to sign up for a class. Remember, you must be a member of the club to participate in these or other classes. All instructors are vaccinated against COVID 19 and participants will be required to have been fully vaccinated as well.

  • The 2022 Petoskey Stone Festival was held at Barnes Park in Eastport on Saturday, May 28, 2022. Check the festival website by clicking on the event title for more information or check their Facebook page.
