  • The THURSDAY, May 15 meeting will be at 6:30 pm. The program will be announced at the meeting.

  • The club has a lease with the City of Traverse City to use the equipment room in the Carnegie building (Crooked Tree Arts Center) on Sixth Street. Open work room sessions are available. You must be a member and have taken the cabochon class to use the work room. You must register in advance due to the limited number of machines. E-mail [email protected] to sign up for a work session. Remember, the workroom is not to be used for commercial purposes.
  • The 2025 Keweenaw Week will be held August 3 – 10, 2025. You can visit the website by clicking on the underlined event name above to find out the details of the Copper Country Rock and Mineral Club Events. There may be some organized events at the Seaman Mineral Museum but Michigan Tech has not posted them as of April 18.
  • The 2025 Ishpeming Rock and Mineral Club show will be held on Saturday, August 2. There are two collecting events this year. Friday, August 1 and Sunday, August 3. Last year, the trips were to the Republic Iron Mine and the Lindburg Quarry to collect Kona Dolomite. For details, check their website from our Sponsors/Links page.
  • The Copper Country Rock and Mineral Club will hold their collecting and social events, August 3 through 10, 2025. Collecting trips are to the Central, Iroquois, Cliff, Wolverine #2 and #4 mines from August 4 through 8. Follow the link to their web site above or from our Sponsors/Links page. The CCRMC Rock and Mineral show is August 8, 9, and 10. Registration opened April 15.
  • Various instructors will be teaching beginning cabochon classes, silversmithing, and wire wrapping classes. The most recent Silversmithing class was held on October 6 and 13. E-mail [email protected] to check for availability or to sign up for a class. Remember, you must be a member of the club to participate in these or other classes. There are class size limits.

  • The 2025 Petoskey Stone Festival will be held at Barnes Park in Eastport on Saturday, May 17, 2025. Check the festival website by clicking on the event title for more information or check their Facebook page. Please note, the festival is one week before Memorial Day Weekend starting this year.
