- The THURSDAY, April 16 meeting will be at 6:30 pm. The programs will be announced at the meeting.
- Please check your newsletter for more information on the “Pebble Pups” program for young rockhounds. The March Pebble Pups Regular meeting is at 5:30 pm on April 16. The meeting will feature “The Gilman Mine and Town Story”. This program is led by Steven Veatch, Michelle Peters and other volunteers. Check out the Pebble Pups own website. - The club has a lease with the City of Traverse City to use the equipment room in the Carnegie building (Crooked Tree Arts Center) on Sixth Street. Open work room sessions are available. You must be a member and have taken the cabochon class to use the work room. You must register in advance due to the limited number of machines. E-mail scheduling@tcrockhounds.com to sign up for a work session. Remember, the workroom is not to be used for commercial purposes.
- The 2026 Keweenaw Week will be held August 2 – 9, 2026. You can visit the Seaman Mineral Museum website by clicking on the underlined event name above to find out the details of the week’s events.
- The 2026 Ishpeming Rock and Mineral Club show will be held on Saturday, August 1. There will be two collecting events this year. The locations have not been finalized as of April 5. The trips will be Friday, July 31 and Sunday, August 2. For details, check their website from our Sponsors/Links page.
- The Copper Country Rock and Mineral Club will be hosting their collecting and social events, August 2 through 9, 2026. Collecting trips will be to the Central, Iroquois, Cliff, Wolverine #2 and #4 mines from August 3 through 7. Follow the link to their web site above or from our Sponsors/Links page. The CCRMC Rock and Mineral show is August 7, 8, and 9. Registration opens at noon on April 15.
- Various instructors will be teaching beginning cabochon classes, silversmithing, and wire wrapping classes. The last silversmithing class was held on October 12 and 19, 2025. E-mail scheduling@tcrockhounds.com to check for availability or to sign up for a class. Remember, you must be a member of the club to participate in these or other classes. There are class size limits.

- The 2026 Petoskey Stone Festival will be held at Barnes Park in Eastport on Saturday, May 16, 2026. Check the festival website by clicking on the event title for more information or check their Facebook page. Please note, the festival is on Saturday, one week before Memorial Day Weekend starting in 2025.
