- The THURSDAY, October 17 meeting will be at 7:00 pm due to a previously scheduled dinner at the VFW. The short program will be presented by the Pebble Pups. The main program will feature Dave Regalbuto speaking on Caymanite and Llanite.

- The club has a lease with the City of Traverse City to use the equipment room in the Carnegie building (Crooked Tree Arts Center) on Sixth Street. Open work room sessions are available. You must be a member and have taken the cabochon class to use the work room. You must register in advance due to the limited number of machines. E-mail [email protected] to sign up for a work session. Remember, the workroom is not to be used for commercial purposes.
- The 2024 Keweenaw Week was held August 4 – 11, 2024. You can visit the website by clicking on the underlined event name above to find out the details. The organized events were Monday, August 5 with a mineral specialist speaking at the Seaman Mineral Museum. The surplus specimen sale was on August 7. The remainder of the time offered 10% off purchases of at least $100.00 at the Museum. The event dates were changed beginning in 2022 to be the same as those offered by the Copper Country Rock and Mineral Club which offers collecting events.
- The 2024 Ishpeming Rock and Mineral Club show was held on Saturday, August 3. There were two collecting events this year. Friday, August 2 was a collecting trip to the Republic Iron Mine. Sunday, August 4 was a trip to the Lindburg Quarry to collect Kona Dolomite. For details, check their website from our Sponsors/Links page.
- The Copper Country Rock and Mineral Club held their collecting and social events, August 4 through 11, 2024. Collecting trips were to the Central, Caledonia, Cliff, Wolverine #4 and Knowlton mines from August 5 through 9. Follow the link to their web site from our Sponsors/Links page. The CCRMC Rock and Mineral show was August 9, 10, and 11. Registration opened April 22.
- Various instructors will be teaching beginning cabochon classes, silversmithing, and wire wrapping classes. The next Silversmithing class will be held on October 6 and 13. E-mail [email protected] to check for availability or to sign up for a class. Remember, you must be a member of the club to participate in these or other classes. There are class size limits.

- The 2024 Petoskey Stone Festival was held at Barnes Park in Eastport on Saturday, May 25, 2024. Check the festival website by clicking on the event title for more information or check their Facebook page. Next year, the show will be on Saturday, one week before Memorial Day Weekend.
