Modeled after a club he created in Colorado; member Steven Veatch began a similar program called Pebble Pups in 2023, with the help of several volunteers. Their meetings take place prior to the regular GTARMC meetings from September through May, excluding December. In the summer, field trips are taken to rock collecting and special geological locations. The Pups also take part in several community educational events.
